M-A-A-P (the “Music Archive Atlas Project”, the “Service”) is operated by Noah Milton Stephens IV (“we”, “us”). When you use the Service you are contracting with Noah Milton Stephens IV. By continuing to use the Service you agree to these Terms.

The Service

M-A-A-P is a digital music-history archive. It lets you explore artists, places and eras, contribute history for review, and — where offered — upload music, buy songs, subscribe to listen, and buy upload packs. Prices are listed on our Pricing page.

Accounts

  • You must be of legal age in your country, or have a parent or guardian’s permission, and have authority to bind any organization you act for.
  • Keep your login details confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service, including by:

  • using it for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading, or sending spam;
  • uploading or submitting material that infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights, or that you do not have permission to share;
  • presenting invented events as documented history or impersonating others;
  • interfering with security — including malware, probing, scraping or circumventing technical limits;
  • reverse engineering, reselling or redistributing the Service.

Your content

You keep ownership of music, stories, photos and other material you submit. You confirm you hold the rights or permission to share it, and you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, display and stream it solely to provide the Service. Submissions are reviewed before publication and may be declined or removed. Rights holders can report infringing material through the Add to the Archive form or by contacting us; repeat infringers will lose access.

Our intellectual property

We retain all rights in the Service, including its software, design, documentation and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within any plan you have purchased.

Payments, subscriptions and refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, taxes, renewals, cancellations and refunds are governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. See our Refund Policy.

Artist earnings

Where an artist earns from song sales, tips or subscriber plays, the artist’s share and our share are shown on the Pricing page. Artist payouts are calculated from completed, non-refunded payments and sent manually.

Historical content

We label sources (Documented, Oral History, Firsthand Account and others) and preserve differing accounts side by side. Some entries are clearly labeled demo content. We do not guarantee that every account is complete or accurate.

Service level and warranties

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or data), and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. When access ends you may request a copy of your submitted content within 30 days, after which it may be deleted.

General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale. We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. We may update these Terms and will post the new date above.
